INTRODUCTION
The Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori is a professional agricultural organisation. The CIA represents and protects the farmer’s economic, social and civil interests and the rural community. The CIA affirms agriculture’s fundamental importance to the economy and in society.
The CIA is a democratic organisation, independent from political parties, trade unions and government. Farmers and agricultural enterprises agree together with conceding of rural country-estates, pensioners, Confederation’s employees, its institutes, associations and societies, the technicians and whoever works in a rural environment. All the members at the Confederation have equal rights and duties and, without privileges and discrimination, they can accede at any place of liability.
The Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori - CIA - is organised in provincial, regional and national associations which are legally independent.
THE REGIONAL RESIDENCE
The Tuscany CIA is based in Florence. The regional CIA system is present in every major town and in the majority of the Tuscany’s communes. Thanks to its presence, the CIA guarantees also at the town-dwellers and at the pensioners of the marginal areas, her protection and it offers good answers at the agricultural enterprise’s requirement.
THE AIMS
The CIA works to affirm and to improve the farmer’s professionalism, the development of the agricultural enterprise, the diffusion of the innovation, the protection of the social and civil rights in rural communities.
THE ACTIONS
The CIA promotes farmers participation in economic choices in relation to others sectors of the economy and of society, on the base of equal dignities and the mutual convenience.
The CIA works for the protection of the environment and for the protection of the territory, it pursues the rebalance town-country, it promotes cultural activities, hospitality and relief that allow the diffusion of the value of the rural world between urban populations. The CIA, in addition to the union representation, provides many high quality services to provide practical solutions within the agricultural sector.
